My name is Ann Janssen and I am the Manager
and co-founder of Legalmart. I have been a Solicitor for over
11 years and am in the home stretch of
completing my Masters of Business with Honours (on Internet strategies for Lawyers).
Legalmart was developed in 1998 and is one of the best known legal sites in Australia. We were the first
legal service in the world to develop online document creation, and have patents pending on this process.
In November, 1999 Legalmart won the prestigious Oracle Asia Pacific Qld IT & T award for best
E-commerce site, and has been a grand finalist in several national awards.

The reason why most law firms' websites get ordinary results is because they are simply one of a number of law firms with a similar web site. Most legal websites, despite the obvious
dollars that have been spent in creating it, are merely cyber brochures that are only accessed by the firm’s existing client base, or potential employees (see
the first Article above which includes survey results from law
firms on their web site).
Because Legalmart clusters law firms under one banner, it is recognized as a legal ‘portal’ and has already secured two major alliances with Banking Institutions as a result (one for Business
legal services and one for online conveyancing).
How You can Get Involved
Legalmart offers to Site Visitors a menu of Personal legal Topics (eg Conveyancing, Wills & Estates, etc) and Business legal topics (eg Patents & Trademarks, E-commerce, etc).
Our Lawyer Affiliate Program gives you the choice to select form 4 categories of service provision within each Legal Topic area. For instance, in the
IT & E-commerce legal topic, 4 types of legal service relating to that topic are offered to the Site visitor. Each of these areas is available on a State level or a national level, and your firm has the further option of taking all 4 categories, the choice is yours.

Legal Information |
The legal information section is highly profiled for each legal Topic. Because it is free for Site Visitors, it attracts a lot of ‘hits’. The Lawyer Affiliate provides relevant information for this area (once at the commencement) and then up dates the information as necessary.
Benefits: Lawyer is profiled from each page as the ‘expert’ in the topic and as the provider of the information. Newsletter also profile the Lawyer
heavily. Generates ‘leads’ which become the Lawyer’s clients (and at Lawyer’s own charge out rates). Legalmart does not take any commission on fees
generated. This section is also valuable if you have written or produced a legal resource such as an article, books, papers, or videos and are looking for an online outlet to sell your
product(s). Legalmart provides all advice, and enabling of this category for the Lawyer Affiliate as part of this cost.

Online Legal
Services
(Document Creation) |
The document creation area is well known as one of the core areas of the Legalmart service, and Legalmart has won awards for this process (as well as having patents
pending). Lawyers provide standard documents on the legal topic of their choice for Legalmart to program online. The Lawyer provides legal support for the document by way of email to the client and can edit the document online if needed. Lawyers get a copy of each completed document automatically by email when created, and the client is the client of the Lawyer affiliate (for you to market to
etc).
Benefits: Lawyer is profiled heavily in this section. Very suitable for progressive Lawyers who are looking at ways to make money from a good precedent base, without the need to spend personal
labour. Also good for Lawyers who wish to increase their customer base in a particular field of law, as they have potentially a large client base to market
to. Legalmart provides all advice, and enabling of the documents. Clients are clients of the Lawyer
Affiliate. Legalmart is responsible for all marketing and referral costs.

Online Consultation

This service allows Site Visitors to email the Lawyer Affiliate a question for a fixed fee
of $29.95 incl.
GST – up to 10 mins of
time. Our experience has been that Lawyer Affiliates in this service often get long term, good quality clients from this service, provided that they handle the client query promptly and effectively, as most queries require a more substantial
solution.
Benefits: Good for Lawyers who wish to increase their customer base in a particular field of law, as they may be able to generate additional work from
enquiries. Legalmart provides the online method by which emails are sent to the Lawyer. Clients are clients of the Lawyer
Affiliate. Legalmart is responsible for all marketing and referral costs. Contact

Find a Leading
Lawyer Referral Service

A law firm or an individual Lawyer from that firm is profiled in detail in their area of expertise. You are profiled as
follows:
1.Directly from the front page of the Site, by either a hyperlinked line (mentioning your firm name and the name of the Lawyer) which links to your website, or by a banner of your firm name and logo – which links to a profile page about you and your firm, including contact details. Visitors can contact you direct or go to your web page;
and
2.Directly from a legal channel (or topic) in your area of expertise (again either by a hyperlinked line or banner +
profile)
Popular with legal ‘gurus’ who want broad exposure in a particular field of law. Lawyers must specialize in this area and have at least 5 years of practical experience in this field.
3. Profiled in Newsletters that go to our
subscribers and to our webmaster subscribers.
Benefits: Provides a ‘personal web page’ for lawyers who are experts in their field of law, with exposure to a broad audience that their own web site may not
achieve. Generates ‘leads’ which become the Lawyer’s clients (and at Lawyer’s own charge out rates). Legalmart does not take any commission on fees
generated.
Legalmart provides advice on content and design and
e-enable the profile as part of the fee charged. Lawyer affiliate provides firm logo and photos, and general information. Contact
