SECURITY
All data that you type into this Site, (whether it be a credit card number for online payment, personal information for registration purposes, or other information to complete an online service) is encrypted for your protection by 128-bit strong encryption using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security (scrambling your data electronically in a form of code).
You will see this by the 'padlock' (if you use Internet Explorer) or an 'unbroken key' (Netscape) coming into view in your Internet browser when you get into these secure areas.
With respect to online payments, please note that you have added security in that most major banks will credit your account and debit us if you check your monthly statement and find unauthorised use of your credit card (you need to notify them within a reasonable time). So, in most cases, we carry the risk of online use of credit cards, not you. If you feel unsure, you may like to use a credit card that has a limit of say $500.00.
Other payment options are available to you, as follows:
- you can fax us your credit card details,
- pay by phone or
- mail a cheque.
We will then issue you with a receipt number that allows you to access the service, normally by the next working day. However, if you want to access a
CorporateFirst service immediately, then you will need to pay by credit card online. This will allow you to go the service you have selected immediately.
PRIVACY
[top]
Legalmart.corp Pty Ltd (ACN: 081 698 937) trading as
CorporateFirst™ owns and operates this Website. We adopt and seek to comply with the Privacy Commissioner's "National Principles for the Fair Handling of Personal Information" (which can be found at:
http://www.privacy.gov.au).
Those principles include the obligation to fully respect your privacy by not allowing third parties access to any of the personal data (such as your name, Email or street address) you disclose to us without first obtaining your written consent.
We only use the information we collect about you to process orders and to provide, in conjunction with the
professional affiliates who prepared the document/ product/service, a more personalized online experience (including Lawyer Support for your documents, etc).
For example, when you access the services from our site, whilst you are basically doing a DIY document, nevertheless a professional 'stands behind' it to support you and so when they do you are really their client and they need to know who you are and how they can help you. They are available for enquiries and they also
have electronic access to the documents and letters you
produce which they check (for obvious errors) as part of the price you
pay for the service. The law firm that supports your service is under a strict professional duty to keep your
client matters confidential.
Also our computer system may use 'cookies' (small bits of data stored by your computer's browser onto your hard drive) to help us better manage your use of our site and database and for statistical purposes (e.g. when you come back again you won't need to register again as we will recognise you as a 'regular').
CONFIDENTIALITY
[top]
We at CorporateFirst treat your matters as completely confidential. All the personal information you give on the site will not be divulged to anyone other than the professional who
prepares the document and who is obliged to check a "cc" of
your letters and documents that you receive for any obvious errors and
to "be there" to answer any of your questions before, during and after the download.
All professionals are obliged by their governing rules to keep client's information completely confidential. As most of our affiliates are lawyers, the level of protection your information receives will be greater than on most internet sites you may visit.
QUALITY
CONTROL [top]
Should you wish to contact the legal or other professional firm who prepared material on this site,
your initial inquiry should be directed to the Lawyer Support for that service. The law firm that stands
behind the service is clearly profiled on each page of your service.
However, if you wish to make an inquiry or complaint at any time about material on the site or the service
you receive from the independent legal and other professional firms from the site, then
you are encouraged to direct your inquiry or complaint to
CorporateFirst.
As a trading corporation in Australia, Legalmart.corp Pty Ltd
trading as CorporateFirst™ is bound by the laws that protect consumers contained in the Trade Practices Act 1974. The ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) is the government agency that administers that legislation.
Further, as all the professionals who deliver services via the site are licensed to practice law or their respective profession, complaints may also be directed to their professional bodies such as the Law Society in the appropriate state.
OUR
GUARANTEE & REFUND POLICY
[top]
A. Using the CorporateFirst Online Service
We believe that you will enjoy this online legal service and save time and money by using it.
Unfortunately we cannot refund your money if you purchase the
service online and then decide that you do not want to
continue. This is because you cannot practically 'return'
the online service.
However, if for any reason you start the online service and feel that you would prefer to have a Lawyer look after your matter in the
traditional way (for instance, if you need a custom made document), then you can contact your Lawyer Support and request your matter to be converted to the
traditional service.
You will get a full credit for your online service against the
traditional legal service that you buy through CorporateFirst.
Example: You buy the CorporateFirst online Discretionary Trust
Deed for $250.00 (incl GST)
You get half way through it, and realise that you need a custom
made trust deed. You contact Lawyer Support. They quote $600.00
(incl. GST) to produce the tailor made deed. You pay the difference of
$350.00 (incl. GST) and your Lawyer Support will complete the deed
on your behalf.
So you pay no more for using the CorporateFirst online service. But you stand to save hundreds of dollars by giving it a go!
B. Using a traditional legal service with a Lawyer Support firm
If you use one of our network of Lawyer Support firms to do a
traditional service, then you have the peace of mind of knowing that these firms abide by certain policies that we feel are important to you. They include:
Fixed Fees wherever possible - The team at CorporateFirst have been involved in the legal profession for many years. During this time we have listened to our clients, who have often told us that they are scared of the possibility of running up huge legal costs. This is why we
encourage our network of
law firms to fix the fee wherever possible so that you can budget and know what to expect. You should be able to negotiate a fixed price for doing a matter with the law firm
(Note: some legal matters are so uncertain that they cannot be fixed, but most can).
Client Care obligations - Our Lawyer Affiliates must show us that they have in place quality systems and a customer focused policy before they join our network. In particular they must:
1. Have staff dedicated to serving you promptly and efficiently
2. Provide you with up to date and accurate information
3. Listen to you so that they can understand your needs
4. Keep you informed of progress on your matter
5. Provide you with easy to understand guidance and advice
6. Respond promptly to your Feedback
Expertise - Our Lawyer Affiliates must specialize or have expertise in this area of law. We gauge this by looking at the experience of the Lawyers that work for that Law firm.
Refund Policy -
If any part of the traditional service you receive from one of our
Lawyer Affiliates is incorrect, or careless, then you will
certainly not be charged for that work. If you wish to
cancel your instructions at any time, you may do so, by notice in
writing to your Lawyer, and you will only be billed for that portion
of the work completed to date.
IF
YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT
[top]
About our online service please contact
us and we will do our best to rectify it immediately.
If the complaint is in relation to your Lawyer Support, then you can contact the Partner of the
law firm (verbally or in writing) and they will respond to your query as soon as possible. The contact details of the Lawyer Support appear prominently on each page of the service. You can also
contact
the team at CorporateFirst, and we will contact the Lawyer affiliate immediately to sort out the problem.
About a traditional legal service
with a Lawyer Support firm - you should contact the law firm
and speak to the Principal direct. Although CorporateFirst
has no direct involvement in your contract with that law firm, we
would appreciate your feedback
in this regard.
